Xiang Ying found out that despite Yuji's rebellious ways, he was just trying to help his family. She encouraged him to patch things up with Yusuke. However, Yuji's yakuza organisation planned to use Yuji as a scapegoat for a smuggling operation and they sent men to kill Yuji before he can meet with Yusuke. Xiang Ying baited Yuji with the money and drugs she stole from him, then kidnapped him, thus effectively protected him from assassins. The two brothers met on Christmas Eve and reconciled.
